Radio Volume Issue
Greetings everyone,
Here is my dilemna and see if anyone else has ever experienced this: I have a 2005 X5 4.4i with Nav system. When I attempt to turn up the volume by using the rotary knob on the radio itself, it is very intermittent. As I rotate clockwise (increase volume) I can turn it 1/2 a turn before the volume begins to increase. The same thing happens when decreasing the level. FYI: I have a new knob that I ordered since mine was peeling badly. Any one know how to resolve this? Thanks in advance. Scott |
Does the knob feel loose at all when turning? If so pull the knob off and see if the nut under it is loose. (don't remember if the X5 has exposed nut or if it is internal)

It appears that the shaft is firm and does not appear loose when turning. Without disassembling the entire radio from dash, I did spray some electronic contact cleaner/lubricant along the shaft and it did help somewhat. Still not as factory was but improved. Thanks for the response. Scott |
