Check Low Beam Lights

Hi,

Getting the following error this morning and it does seem that one of the bulbs is out.

My question is how easy is it to change the bulb and where is a good place in the UK to buy them from. Also, would I need to change both at the same time or just the non-working one?

Thanks in advance

It would help it you told us what year. There is a big difference in difficulty between pre and post face lift model years.

Sorry should have mentioned year. Its a 2004 facelift(UK model). I did notice when i turn the lights on the light comes on for a second and then goes back off and the front fog lights automatically come on. I did notice a flicker so not sure whether its the bulb or some other light component

OP, do you have HIDs or halogens? If you have halogens, it will take you all of 10 minutes. If you have HIDs, it is a pain.

I have been getting that message for the past year or so. My off-side main bulb does not work when the message is present. I then flick the switch to ON as quickly as possible and that cures it, message gone, and bulb working normally. I'll get round to fixing it properly one day...;)

They are HIDs and has it replaced today. To be honest it was straight forward and took about 15 minutes.

X5H - I know this was an older post, but I assume changing the bulb fixed the problem? I am having a similar issue. Passenger side HID works, then it doesn't, then it does again. Very strange. It's also a shade off from the drivers side color. (more of a blue tint)

Just looking at my options before I go nuts
