Did you guys attempt the ribbon cable replacement ? How did you get on ?

Laying on the couch, watching old episodes of Heroes on Tv Shows while babying myself and my strep throat. I did just get the ribbon in the mail yesterday, tools instructions and all...im looking forward to see how well it works out.

Thats the site I was looking at. What instructions did you follow, or did you just take it apart and have a go at it yourself?

Looks great wjp. I didn't take pics but the before and after were the same for me. And I'm seeing 22.5C on your outside temp gauge. Try the -15C we had here in Ireland last few weeks ..... freeze the nuts off a brass monkey it would. Or the door locks of an X5 as I found out ....

Yes Patrick I'm gonna give it a go, though its my MID that has the problem not my instrument cluster. So I'm going to have a look at the links M5James has posted up.

I'm sure you"ve already looked, but there are MID disassembly write-ups as well, not to mention TONS of other useful information that can be used on out E53's.
