Retractable Cargo Cover

In reference to the article about the retractable cargo cover, I was wondering if anyone here did it ?

http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-46.html

And if there was any pictures of the conversion and the finished setup.

As my old style (2002) cargo cover squeaks and rattles all the time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Can someone with 2004 and newer X5s please post pictures of their retractable cargo cover...

like this one:

I am looking for detailed shots of the rails and how the cover is fixed to the sides...

Thank...

thanks, excellent pics

I am really grateful for the help...

One small question: You do not have any rails on the side right???

If it is not too much trouble can I ask for two more pictures:

one close up of the cargo cover closed

another with the cargo cover removed and close up of where it is fixed.

Thanks a lot for your help.

accordion style also.

thanks better than nothing I guess.

Are you guys saying this cover will make noise, if so I will keep an ear out.

ghani 12-06-2005 05:37 PM

unfortunately yes....

broknlgs24 12-06-2005 05:37 PM

i never had mine in long enough to know.
when my X5 was delivered, it was missing a part
and i never had it replaced. overall though, the older
style just seems flimsy to me.

BMWJO 12-06-2005 05:39 PM

thanks...i'll keep an ear out
it does not bother me to take it out.... easy fix.

ghani 12-06-2005 05:39 PM

i think the change was made for production date 08/2003
