X5 lower tailgate

I have 2004 X5. Does lower tailgate automatically lock when you push it in? Or how to lock lower tailgate?

Yes it does lock auto. when you push it in! Try using key fob to lock it if first way does not work or just check a motor!

SH*T, my one does not auto lock any more.

Sorry let me rephrase again. The lower tailgate does not automatically lock when I push it in and the lower tailgate does not lock even I lock the car.

Is there anyway to lock the lower tailgate?
