Bluetooth turned off?

Hi I am new to this forum, and recently bought a '05 BMW X5 3.0i.
I paired my bluetooth with my Iphone just fine and it worked for a little while. However, now it won't pair up, my phone can't find the BMW bluetooth (the phone light is off in the dash). What happened, did the bluetooth turn off or did it break? Thanks!

Regards,
Liv

A friend of mine bought an 05 some time ago and he got some technical update done to the BT that BMW provided free of charge but I do not recall the details. Probably worth checking with a trustworthy SA.

Try going through the pairing procedure again.

Mine does this with my Android phone. When the light goes off completely and its not paired the only thing that has worked is pulling the battery lead. A complete power off of the bluetooth unit is what is actually happening but that has resolved this prob twice now.

Thanks for the info! I will have to check into that, though, unfortunately I don't have a very trustworthy SA (Jackie Cooper BMW).

I tried to delete the pairing info, so I could try to pair again. Not sure if I was doing it right, or used the right button? The only BT button I can see is the one on the steering wheel, I can't find the one that's supposed to be in the center console somewhere?
It seems like the bluetooth unit is just off, no lights or response at all...

I will have to try to pull the battery lead! Though, I probably will have to make sure I have the radio code before I do.
Thanks for the tip!
