Busted bolt on camshaft position sensor! help!
 

I've been at this for days now. the torx screw holding the exhaust cam sensor does not come out - I've broken a hex key trying to get it out and the threads are completely worn out. Tried Grab-its which haven't worked either. It is almost impossible to drill given the location. Any suggestions on what has worked for others would be extremely helpful. Am I left with having to take the radiator out to get a straight look?:banghead:

If you can reach it with some Vise-grips, you might be able to clamp down on it and twist it out. But it will also chew up the bolt head so watch out. Otherwise, it's time to drill and extract.

And with anything that's stuck - don't forget to soak it up good with some PB Blaster. Walmart, AutoZone, etc - they all carry it.

you could try a 1/4 inch imperial allen key . I did so using an impact driver on a brake disc bolt after having the same issue as you have .
it is probably not possible to use the impact driver on cam sensor bolt but tapping in the 1/4 key might work .
alternatively , cut a groove into which a flat bit will fit .

Thanks guys. Finally got it out - had to snap off the plastic sides of the sensor in order to get some movement once I had it clamped tight. Oh, and doused it for days with PB cleaner.
