Need Help Replaced Battery battery light still on
 

Hi all,

I need some help. My battery light came on driving to work yesterday and before I could make it home the battery quit. Lights came on the whole thing. Got a ride to Batteries Plus and relaced with a Ray o Vac they said was the replacement. The X started and all the lights cleared except the battery light. I drove around this morning but the battery light is still on. I have looked for other threads but nothing comes up. Where do I go from hear. I'll check the alt output in the morning. All ideas appriciated.

The battery light is really an alternator light. Check charging output.

JCL-I'm reading my Bentley book to test the charging system in the morning. Just got back from wine tasting and don't want any wrong moves. We had a designated driver.

Agreed, it's probably your alternator. If the alt works, your car would have full electrics even if the battery was stone dead. The car runs off the alternator and only uses the battery to start.
