Oil stop leak additive

Has anyone used these additives successfully to at least slow the rate of leak in BMW 3.0 engines, or is this Verbotten?
I need to change my oil filter adapter gasket but probably won't have the time until Christmas, so a "solution in a can" would be useful until then.

A solution in a can is a really bad idea, and is not in fact a solution.

dont put anything but oil in your engine. you'll fcuk it all up! dont be gullible thinking a quick fix is a good fix

they have a stop leak for oil? OMG.

barleak for coolant is bad enough.....although it did get me home from 3000 miles away one time.
