Load Space Cover Problem
 

I'm unable to seat the right side of the load space cover; however, the left side seats fine. The sides of the cover itself look fine. The left "female" side is missing the black spring loaded plastic pin (circled in photo). The right side pin is intact, but sticks out. Is the plastic pin supposed to click into the housing? I'm not sure what to replace here and was looking for some help. Thanks!

Can anyone chime in here about the normal function of the black plastic pin inside the receiver for the cover? That's the spot circled in the picture. Does it have two positions or does it stick out all the time?
