shelf life of BMW coolant

I have a couple gallons of BMW coolant that I've had for several years. Probably 6 is my guess. Is it worth using, or better to buy some new coolant. Does it have a shelf life? I know I've used regular Prestone type coolant after sitting around for several years without issue. I wouldn't think it would break down like oil does.

A quick peruse of the web suggests most brands have a long shelf life; the hand wringers at BobTheOilGuy suggest a couple or "few" years, fwiw.

If it were mine, I would use it; nasty stuff to dispose of.

{sarcasm} Yes, it's gone bad, but I'd be happy to dispose of it for you... {/sarcasm}

It's probably just fine. Imagine how long things like bottled coolant and oil and such sit in a warehouse/trucking/inventory shelves before they hit your hands...
