Are these sport struts? I can't seem to find the part number of my front struts anywhere 31316750359
Would they have "S226A" stamped on them if they were?
I have 02 4.4i w/rear self level

Below are the part numbers from realoem.com

Description Supplement Qty From Up To Part Number Price Notes i The following part is absolutely vital
for strut replacements:
Additional shock absorber, front01LEFT FRONT SPRING STRUT131316764599$378.7301FRONT RIGHT SPRING STRUT131316764600$378.73For vehicles with
Sports suspension settings
S226A=Yes 01FRONT RIGHT SPRING STRUT131316764602$416.7001LEFT FRONT SPRING STRUT131316764601$416.70

Most likely a superseded part number, but I'd have to guess non sport from the lack of sport identification on the label. You have EFC32P where the S226A would be. (if my memory is acting right ;))

I have Sports suspension on mine and mine are Bilstein.
I did find that part#31316750359(also known as 31336570359) has been replaced by 31316764601 and this maybe why you cannot find it on Realoem!
According to this you have Sports suspension
Front Spring strut/Carrier/Wheel bearing BMW X5 E53, X5 4.4i (M62)

cool guys thanks Does Sach's make any aftermarket replacements for the sport struts? bavauto doesn't specify if they're sport or non-sport. From what I've found on here, the Bilstein HD's are pretty unforgiving especially considering that my X is lowered. I can't stand how harsh my ride has gotten.

I think I wil be going back to my stock struts that came with my X. The bilstein's I have are just way to harsh. I would prefer softer front end now.

Yes,Sachs do make aftermarket struts for the X5..I just fitted some on a customer´s car (non-sport) and customer very happy with comfort and handling.

I know Sach's makes aftermarket struts, but I can't find which ones they replace. They just say w/ rear self-level. From my findings on here, you can apparently have rear self level non-sport suspension. I was always under the impression that rear self level meant that you had sport suspension. I'm looking for a sport strut replacement that doesn't require a mortgage to purchase. I can't beleive how much one strut costs for a truck thats almost a decade old. I just bought all 4 struts for my step-dads Dakota for $150. Thats half the price of just one for the X

I will ask my vendor if they also do the rear struts for self-levelling suspension and will post back.
