How safe are refinished OE wheels? Would it be better to just go with brand new replicas?

Quite a few people have success with them. They're as safe as any others. The only danger, as I see you're from NYC, is how easily they damage. Forged wheels like OE, take a lot more abuse. They are stronger but doesn't mean they're indestructable. Lots of folks have damaged/bent/cracked OE wheels.

From experience of driving in NYC day in and day out as a young buck chasing tail in my E36 coupe, i'd stick with OE or at least a properly forged aftermarket wheel. With this selection, you get what you pay for. Although I have heard that even HREs bend pretty easily in NYC.

I'd also have to mention that how much meat you have wrapped around them plays a big factor. I wouldn't hesitate going aftermarket replica with my 17" and a 65 sidewall. With 20" and a 45 sidewall, not so much.

Bringing this back....i'm looking for these rims or considering them, whats the hub size the style 132 rims? are the they 72.56? i'm leaning towards rims that will be hubcentric rather then the 74.1 hub and using a hub ring...
