New member, Hello!....pics enc.

***New pics added on pg. 3. 12/08***

Hello,

New to the forum...always been a sportscar guy, but when my wife and I found out we were having our second, we had to get something a bit bigger and comfortable enough to use as a daily with 2 pre-school age kids. After trolling the board for a few weeks we ended up getting an extended warranty, 1-owner, fully loaded seal grey 05' 4.4. Car only had 55k miles on it and was a deal off of KBB. Previous rides include modded: 996 911 C4S, B7 Audi S4 and an E46 M3. The reliability of the BMW brought me back....

Any advice in mods, care, tuning or upgrades is always appreciated!

Here's the pics sorry about the blackberry camera quality: KW COs, 177s...4.8is rear and front bumper retrofit coming in the fall.

:thumbup:Welcome, looks greats. Look-out for those garage posts.

AlecX5 12-07-2010 03:45 PM

haha..thanks for the comments guys!!! yeah i'm a close parker to immovable objects. It's better I park close than my wife or son wack the door on the way out of the passanger side.

:dunno:Quick question...does anyone know how to kill the susp. inact code? or do a hard reset on the nav/comp. The indy i brought it to for the COs tried to kill the susp code but ended up configuring the default nav/comp to Metric. ....with no luck on the susp code.

Thanks in advnce!

Welcome - gorgeous X. Love the rims! How friggin big is your garage dude? :) I'm jealous...that's all.

indianapolisX5 12-07-2010 04:49 PM

Now that is one good looking X!

Great color, awesome wheels. Tint those front windows to match the rears and it'll be perfect!

powers1 12-07-2010 05:12 PM

Great looking car .Love that colour...Why is it so low??????''

MINIz guy 12-07-2010 05:34 PM

I should have asked these questions in my first post, but is that as low as you can go? How is the ride compared to 55k mile suspension? How much travel is left in the suspension (ie. can the car flex over curbs anymore)?

dpgx5 12-07-2010 06:08 PM

Looks Awesome :) I have those wheels and I was deciding to put them on. At least I get a better idea now... Update us with the 4.8 kit. cheers

Thanks guys for the comments....

Car is lowered on KW Coilovers...i know i wish it wasn't as low but that is the highest setting. Surprisingly the car still rides pretty good....my wife couldn't even tell when she drove it!:D shhhhhhhh!

BMWLOVER 12-07-2010 10:41 PM

That's possibly one of the nicest 4.4's I've seen in a while especially compared to the ones around where I live.

Just a suggestion but have you thought about adding wheel spacers? I think it'll really give it a sexy look.

princemoe2m 12-07-2010 11:49 PM

:xoutpost: nice looking X, not too many X's can pull that sexy looks with those rims.. i guess the color makes a difference good choice

In these pictures it was lower than my current setting...Honestly the ride isn't that harsh and is pretty comparable to 55k oem. Not sure about travel left in the suspension but I can tell you that I haven't recognized any problems in daily driving or functionality.
