Emergency: Need pads for a 4.8is

I'm one of the many of you with a steering wheel vibration when braking between 60 and 80MPH.

I've taken my 06 4.8is to two stealers in town and was told by the first one that the rotors were warped (cross-drilled bought through BavAuto). Changed them. No change. Took it to the second stealer and was told it's the pads. I'm currently running Red Stuff.

I am asking for advice for front pads which will meet my three criteria: good stopping power hot or cold, little-to-no noise and lastly, little-to-no dust.

So, what say you?

Bruce, I had great success with Axxis pads. Check the Brake Warehouse.....Phil

Unless you really need the cross drilled rotors, you could try switching back to solid oem types. I run the Centric rotors and pads (bought from Zeckhausen) on my '06 4.8is. They offer oem type low dust pads which are pretty good and don't dust nearly as much as stock. The rotors are good too and I've had no problems with the conbo so far after about 5k on them. Cost is reasonable too.

Axxis does not have pads for 4.8is any more. I put the EBC red stuff pads from our sponsor ECS Tuning. No noise or brake dust. Check the vendor forum for our resident ECS contact.
OEM is Textar brand if you prefer brake dust.

Sounds like your thrust arm bushings. Have u ever replaced them?

I replaced mine with Mintex and they seem to dust even worse than OEM pads. I'm not so thrilled with that. They seem to work about exactly the same. I just replaced the rears with Textars.
