parts from same model and production year fit no problem .
parts from other production year or model require coding .
could be the mid requires repair . search the forum for pixel repair .
here is a pic showing failed pixels . the repair does not require a replacement cluster .
a link to a repair shop
BMW, Porsche, Land Rover Instrument Cluster Repair and restoration of MID & LCD repair for the typical missing or faded pixel problem

thanx, its just i was thinking maybe repairing it might be more expensive than buying a used one but if it needs coding from the dealer i might just repair it, i will check the production year as well hope its the year

i believe bmw will repair your pixel errors on your cluster for 50.00. the km reading is something you would have to live with since that cannot be reprogrammed. i think it costs around 150 at bmw for them to recalibrate a new cluster

THANX i think i'll just get it repaired
