Get the OEM hoses. The hose clamps are non-removable because the BMW part comes with plastic fittings on both ends. To remove, you simply pull up on the metal pin that holds each end in place, then remove. It is just that simple. While you're at it, do the radiator expansion tank and the hose on top if you have not already done so.

Edit: Oh forgot to mention, that hose is gonna pop within a week or so. Replace it NOW.

Those hoses come as one piece with the plastic ends on them. Its a clip style connection with a built in o-ring that actually works really well when properly installed. Just pop all the clips loose (there's 3 ends to that hose) and GENTLY work it off the radiator neck, wp and alternator inlet. Lube the ends of the new hose with a silicone spray and the o-rings will slide right on and "click". Unfortunately, my Droid won't allow me to start a new paragraph. My advice: get the real hose. Don't save a few bucks then patch your BMW back together with a cheap, universal hose. You'll probably break the plastic ends trying to get the bands off anyway as I can tell by that brown, brittle plastic that hose is original and probably has over 100k on it. There's a good chance rest rest of your cooling system is hurting as well. Just an early warning to fix the X5 right now or she will bite you later. Hope this helps! -Ben

Thanks for the info. I'll pickup the OEM part. This vehicle was dealer maintained, so I'm going to try to contact the dealer and get the service history before replacing parts that might have just been replaced recently. I understand the X5 cooling system is troublesome, just like e36's. I really wish they kept the e30 system in use. 280k miles and still going in mine... Even with Dayco hoses! (Yes, I used Dayco hoses. I have an e36 engine in my e30 and there is no off-the-shelf hose that fits.)
