What HID fogs are you using?

Bought a cheap set on eBay that only lasted about a month. I need a set that is 6000k.

Great post. Right now I've got the stock fog bulbs and I've been searching the forums to see what/how to upgrade.

Has anyone ever used MTec HID kits? I've always used their standard bulbs, and they seem brighter.

On a similar note, are all E53s H3?

Thanks,

When you say lasted, do you mean the bulbs or the ballasts?

go with bimmian kit. works perfectly and not overly tinted.

www.ddmtuning.com, roughly $60 shipped w/ a lifetime warranty.

I'm sure it was the ballast because it was buzzing loudly and would not always ignite. The ones I bought were like $35 so it was my fault.

m5james that is a great site, thanks for the heads up! So I'm assuming I should order the DDM HID Slim Ballast kit in 35watt with the Error Eliminator. Is the Error Eliminator really needed, and do I need to install the upgraded harness? I'm really hoping I can just get by with plug-and-play.

Edit: Also I'm reading some old posts and some people who have the DDM kits are recommending HIDNY and XenonDepot. Anyone with those kits care to comment, and also do I spring for the slim ballasts?

Thanks,
-Cyrus

Paying the difference for the slims isn't really needed since your using it in a vehicle...for example I did a set of slims on my motorcycle, but then again it came w/ a mess of wires, so I don't know if there was any real weight savings. The eliminators are needed so you don't get error messages on your OBC, so I'd get them. All of these are plug and play based on your headlight bulb style for whatever you order the HID's for since it will come w/ the appropriate bulb and the ballast will have the same harness style as whatever the bulb is that you're replacing...they're very easy to install. I'm going to forewarn your now though, don't put HID' into your headlights unless you have projectors (little crystal ball), otherwise the light is terribly diffused and you'll never get a good aim no matter what. They work fine in foglights though.
