X5 Gearbox - Transmission ECU?
 
Hi, I had the transmission error message a few times with the car locked in 3rd gear, so I booked it into BMW who reported after an oil change and ECU reset I need a new gear box at £6500. So I decided to go for a recon at £3000. Ive had it fitted and just need a ECU reset (apparently) So I booked back in to BMW for an ECU reset and now Im told they can not reset the ECU for the gearbox and I need a new gearbox ECU? Has any one had this and it costs £3000 !

Try ZF who manufacture the transmission they sent the software to Australia to reprogramme mine after BMW gave up.
