Less problems with E70?
 

I bought an 06 4.8is last Feb and have had numerous problems(air suspension). Are the newer generation E70 more reliable?

how many miles on your 06? the air suspension could be better with a newer e70 since they have had more time to work on the x5, but im sure all parts will fail about the same time. arnott industries has refurbished components for the air suspension which are a lot cheaper than oem.

Considering the reliability fiasco of the E53, the E70 is far better. However, you should consider that air rides are not the most solid part no matter the car maker.

I have BOTH. Aside from the air ride which I agree stinks they have been about the same. But the e70 is constantly needing software updates. When I got my 07 it was 7 revisions behind and it took 4hours to reprogram. My biggest beef with the e70 so far is the trim and fit and finish. Lots of pieces wearing off, plastic cracking etc. And I am not hard on a car either.

I took the wife's 4.8is out the other day and it defiantly feels tighter and more responsive. The e70 feels more luxurious per si. But that is just my .02

Now I have 47k miles. I have replaced the right front air suspension with an Arnott Industries unit. Does the E70 come with the same air suspension system?:dunno:
