Nav Display Flickering

2002 4.6is with MKIV added years ago

126000 miles and everything working find until recently. Now the Navigation Screen flickers from bright to dim and back etc. and remains dim 70% of the time.

I've tired to isolate it to driving and hitting bumps, sitting still idling, opening and closing the monitior, pressure on areas off the monitor and tapping on the monitor with no luck...the radio, nav, sound, etc all work and do not vary during the flickering brightness

It has been to cold to see how it reacts when warm...

any suggestions?

BTW, Alpine replaced the LCD about 16 months ago and all the pixels are now good and they do not flicker.

1 other question: after locking your docks with the key fob, how long does the LED beisdes the (P) Parked indicator stay on. Mine stays on far longer than the interior lights etc but must go off at some point ... longer than I cared to stay out in the cold watching it for sure. Battery is not draining and the X aways starts right up.

Thank you

Sounds like what happened to mine. The backlight I think it was. Mine was cactus, so I just got a new unit, didn't repair it. The LCD could be good to go, but some thing on the board behind the LCD may be gone.
