Thank you:thumbup:

Whatever you do, get a pre-purchase inspection before you buy one (see the thread about 2002 X5!). I'd recommend having Adam down at European Auto (Spring Mountain and the 15) look at it. Tell Shelina "hi from Kirk" when you schedule the appointment/stop in.

Transmission is a known issue, as are coolant leaks (valley pan gasket), sway bar end links and all of the front bushings (thunks). Do your due diligence and you'll be loving life in a nice E53!

I'd recommend getting one with an extended warranty unless you are very mechanically inclined and are good at fixing things yourself. If you are handy w/cars, Das Autosport can get you the parts for a good price and he's in Vegas (1 or 2 days to get pretty much anything, plus he has a ton of stuff in stock since he has an '05 4.4i X5!). PM me if you need more details/contact info.

Good luck on your search!

As with any used car, CPO or not, Have it inspected. EYES WIDE OPEN. If you are in the I got to have it mode, take a deep breath, read the differant threads, then take another deep breath. BMW's are very very expensive to maintain and repair.

If you are still in the I got to have it mode, God help you. These things are less then reliable, and a good portion of your monthly disposable income will go for repairs.

Save up.

thank you everyone for the input, ill keep my eyes wide open x5 is one of my options for a nice suv but from what i hear here and the research id did for most people its a lot of trouble. If i get one for a good price ill pick it up but im going more toward infinity fx45 good thing if i get an x it will come in handy that im a mechanical guy.
