Replaced X5 door handle carrier-need advice
 

I installed a new front driver side door handle carrier. I had a difficult time re-installing the lock and then aligning it with the screw from the inside. However, I was finally able to screw in the lock. I then had a problem with the door handle sticking up too far. Consequently, the handle is attempting to engage and release the door. However, since the door handle is “seated” too high, there is not enough clearance to allow enough space for the door to release. What did I do wrong? Is there a way to adjust the wire on the carrier so that the handle sits down flush against the outside of the door? If so, how and what do I do?

On top of this, the window now does not want to go up or down? Any ideas? Maybe I disturbed something when I removed the electronic control for the windows when I removed the door panel or is it related to the door handle not being seated properly? Thoughts and comments would be appreciated! Thanks.

Sounds like it's not put in correctly. Do a search or go into the how to section and it's all there.

I had a similar problem with the door handle. I checked and found that I installed the carrier over the rubber window felt. If you can look up in the corner of the you will see the window felt trails off into the inner door compartment. The carrier must fit under this for everything to align properly.
When I removed the felt everything for the carrier went into place without a problem. No alignment issues.
