I dont know if this is the one your looking for but I found this on fleabay it looks like the oem one i have in the my X5 RSE
BMW OEM DVD Player PU-2595A - eBay (item 140503739669 end time Feb-20-11 12:27:49 PST) in mine its mounted between the rear seats to match the interior.
and it mounted vertically this says indash but it looks exactly the same to me. I see the same din plug and power harness wires

sam_x5 01-27-2011 09:48 PM

Oh man you would really make my day if this would be the right one for my system!! Because I've been looking for this player for months!! I'm gonna contact the seller and ask him to provide me with the part number to see if it matches the part number I have. Or if you are 100% sure it looks exactly like the one you have and you have the part number easy access for you I would really appreciate it if you could reply to me with the part number. Thanx a lot man! I love thus Xoutpost thingie because you guys are all awesome and very helpful! Thank you all for all the help and info you guys provide is!!!

sam_x5 01-28-2011 02:19 AM

I contacted the seller afor the part number for the dvd player and I didn't get a reply from him so I decided to take the risk and buy it hoping it will be the right one! hopully if it will be the right one and since you have the system already, can you please help me with the installation of this whole system? I got all the cables and the harnesses... I think I do anyways hehehe and it seems kinda easy but I don't see any wires for the power such as positive and nigative? I don't wanna bother you from now anyways, I'm just gonna wait when it gets shipped to me and it will be the one that I'm looking for then I will contact you again if you wouldn't mind? thank a lot man!!!

chas3 01-28-2011 04:55 AM

So like.. he didn't even bother getting back at you with a PN, but you still went ahead and bought it? Anyway, where exactly are you going to mount that?

sam_x5 01-28-2011 12:03 PM

Well yeah I bought it because My monitors came with the catalog and I checked picture of the player in the catalog and it matches the one on eBay perfectly, plus after what you told me I thought it had to be the right one! I'm gonna mount it in it's original place between the rear seats because like I said I have a complete system and it came with the mounting bracket that matches the seats, just like the one you have in you X5. But my biggest concern is I don't see wires for the power (positive and ground) so still not sure how am I going to power it up? There is a small slim 1'' long black plug not sure what that is for so I'm thinking that might be for the power but not sure where does it plug in? When I get your player I'm going to need your help if you wouldn't mind? Or I'll try to go to my dealer to see if they can provide me with the installation instructions

nigwhyrito 01-28-2011 02:32 PM

the black wire is a din plug it carries the audio and video to the main module that mounts up front. The power connector is the molex connector. Im a try and post the link to the manual on a file share site or something and see if you can access it then or pm me and i will email ya the manual. I recieved it from the original supplier to bmw he used to be on the forums..

Hey man! thank you so much for all your help and effort! really appreciate it!! I got my player and I'm happy because it is the right one!! I was luck that the seller was only 10 miles away from where I live so I just went and pick it up and he had tested it for me. So now I really need your help with the installation! oh by the way I checked the harness and the connections you have on those pictures and I have the same harness and connections. I just tried to download the pdf files that you have uploaded but I ended up with installing a program called whitesmoke for some reason. please do me this big favor and email me the installation files to my email address. here it is [email protected] thank a lot man!! you really made my day because i've been looking for this player for months now! thanx you are the best!!

nigwhyrito 01-28-2011 09:55 PM

dont know about whitesmoke.. i just thought they were pdfs

sam_x5 01-28-2011 10:11 PM

Oh wow I didn't know you could have aux3, again thanx man for all the info. I'll keep that in mind if I wanted to add the aux3, but right now all I need is to see those two babies working. I hope the installation wouldn't be too awkward? Although I really enjoy working on my X5. A few weeks back I spent 8 hours working on it in one day. Ok man waiting for your email. Thank you

do your wires lay across the floor like that? my dvd player is in the driver side rear cargo area with the nav unit and cd changer (cd changer has been changed out for a ipod) and the screen hangs from the ceiling. they also came with wireless headphones, so the parents don't have to listen to cartoons. always thought it was stupid to mount them where you have to pull the vehicle over to change a movie. I don't like the idea of having tv screens on the headrests, where a kid would smash their face into in the case of an accident.

sam_x5 01-29-2011 11:06 AM

I picked up the DVD player and yes it turned out to be the right one for my system. The guy who sold it to me didn't even know for what car that player was and where it goes on the car. Man... This DVD player it took a lot out of me to find because there is none in the country and even in Germany I was told. BMW don't make it anymore! So if any of you guys have a bad player hurry and buy that on on eBay because it's gonna be really hard to come across another one!

TO answer your question joeboch, Yes our wires for that model dvd player run from the front driver side to the rear seat on the floor.. but the wires are hidden. the dvd is mounted to metal with false carpeting that mounts in the middle of the rear seat on the floor facing up .. like the attached pic. I agree about the lcds in an accident but i like the fact i dont have to get out and swap dvds. If im in the backseat it allows me to listen to my cds to. I also like the fact it has 3 inputs. 2 of which can be shared between the lcds. Sorry abou the dirty carpet.. I pulled it out today and shampoo it.

joeboch348 01-30-2011 12:25 AM

mine is the only one ive ever seen. if mine was mounted like yours. it would be full of french fries popcorn and milkshake from the kids. no wonder they break.

sam_x5 01-30-2011 12:16 PM

Yes Joeboch I love it too when a plan comes together too, usually it doesn't happen to me very often hehehe but I'm glad that it did this time! I'm thinking to do the installation myself, somebody was nice enough to send me the dealer full installation manual. Did anybody tried to install this system before?? I just wanna know if it was easy if I follow the instructions or is it better to take to a professional? Usually I'm good with DIY and I did a lot of work on my X5 but I'm afraid that I might mess something up. Thank you guys for all your replies and help!!

joeboch348 01-30-2011 02:34 PM

arent you just replacing the broken dvd player?

sam_x5 01-30-2011 04:15 PM

No that's not me! I'm installing the whole system from scratch!

francoE38 08-12-2011 12:37 PM

Does any one have the part number for the DVD player cables:dunno:I have the dvd but no cables....:D

sam_x5 08-12-2011 02:09 PM

I think I can look it up for you! Because I have installed my system in my X5 but I didn't screw everything in yet because I'm still having an issue with one of the monitors not sure why? Although my whole system is new and the cables! I ended up buying new cable thinking maybe that would resold my issue but it didn't. If you want I have an extra AV module for this system that I bought just to try it on my system again thinking maybe the issue from the module and again it wasn't the issue! Also I bought the AV cable that goes in this module I can sell them to you if you need them? I don't have the DVD cable though the one that powers up the system and thats the one that you need the part number for I'm assuming right? I will look that up for you and let you know ok. Also I have an extra monitor for this system if you need one. I was gonna advirtise it on eBay but didn't get a chance to do it yet
