d2s bulb problems, please help!
hi
recently my right ds2 bulb burnt, (it was flashing for a while, then not light up at all), so i ordered a new pair of aftermarket 6000k, i installed it, and same thing, flash for a bit, then gone, then i reinstall it, unplug and replug it back..it was on...i was driving it for 5 mins...shut off...turn the car back on...gone again...(flashed for couple times...)... not sure whats going on here...any help would be great.! |
Swap the ballast and see if it taking care of the problem... Then you need new ballast.

Sounds like the ignition pulse is going to the lamp but then the ballast is not providing the correct voltage and current to keep the arc sustained and the lamp then goes out again. Most likely a ballast fault. Swapping them is te easiest way to check them. Testing needs great care as the lamp ignition startup operating voltage and associated current can kill as it is up to 23kV depending on type.

Aftermarket bulbs have these issues. Been there, done that. Installed genuine Philips bulbs. They have worked like a champ since last 6 months! I can bet its the bulbs. The ballasts are just too damn sensitive.
