Does the BC show the vehicle speed?
does it show the current speed you are going?
if so, how can you make it display that? |
No it does not.

My instrument panel has this round dial on it, with a little needle that points to the speed. Special order, so you might not have it.:bustingup :troutslap :takecover
Just kidding! My prior Mercedes vehicles all had an option to have a digital speed display, too. I really didn't use it. |

Press SPEED when you are in the 'trip compute mode'. and press SET. it will show the current speed. BTW this is my first post. Just registered. A new owner on 05 X5. The forum is very informtional. Keep up the good work guys & gals! Cheers  |
I have driven Mercs with the digital speed display and found it very useful. Specifically, I find that on many cars, when I have set my optimum seat position, the steering wheel obscures the speedo and in speed obsessed UK this is a BIG problem. However, I don't want to compromise seat comfort to get around this.
AFAICT, by default the X5 does not display current speed anywhere apart from the actual speedomoter, but is there available a device that can be fitted and that can display speed in the OBC, just above the steering column where it can be easily seen, i.e. just another option that can be selected for that display - I currently show the time, but speed would be MUCH more useful. Seeems an obvious extra to me, but anyone know if anything like this is available? |
This is a bit of a pet peeve with me also. My wife's Mini has it!
