Help With Restoring Fading Anodized Black Trim

I've done quite a bit of searching with mixed results. I would like to find a cure for the anodized black window trim pieces that have faded.

So far I tried the recommended fix from the BMW bulletin with no luck. Mothers back to black sounds promising and I will try that this week.

Anyone else able to report fixing fading trim without a completely new replacement?

Since it's a 4.8is, back to black will not work, its the sport trim. Get some meguiars ultra cut compound, buff it out, then top with a coat of wax. Works like a charm.

Thanks for the tip, will be giving it a try this weekend and report back.

Did it on my moms 4.6is. Worked like a charm. Come to think of it, any good compound will work..

I tried Meguiars SwirlX last time and it didn't make any difference. I'm guessing it was not quited abbrasive enough? This is the last touch I need to make the X5 look absolutely perfect so I am hoping it works.
