very nicely done. having a dual sub setup is always a problem with these cars but it appears that you have made the best of the situation.

I HATE YOU! I looked high and low for that exact color combo X5. Couldnt find one. lol.

But seriously, bad ass install ! I'm sure it was worth the effort.

MRTEK 02-16-2011 07:14 PM

Believe me I know what you mean. Once I decided on that combination, I thought it would be near on impossible to find. 12 hours later I had signed the paperwork! :)

TheGodfather 02-17-2011 01:02 AM

That is such a sexy colour combo! Nice work with the sound.
And for the hundredth time, I looooove the clear headlights w/o the ambers.

If you don't mind, about how much would something like this cost to get done at your business? Such a clean job.

MRTEK 02-17-2011 01:36 AM

I don't have a shop anymore. I just run a "online magazine" style website for car audio. However a job like that (without the cost of the products) would probably cost about $3000 - $4000 AUD. There is a lot of work involved.

Great X, Sound would be badass as I can guess. and good thing you removed mudflaps on the rear imo.
One question I have for you though,
On a High volume I get bup-ing sounds from front side speakers, could it be that amp doesn't have enough power? or are speakers ripped? I would like your opinion, thanks.

SlowRider 02-17-2011 10:22 PM

I love it! Nice touch with the amp cooling fans too. Would love to hear that system thump.

Hey guys, been a while since I've had time to get back here. The stereo is about to be completely revamped and I'll keep this thread up to date with the changes as they happen.

I do have a couple of nice pics of the car to share with you now though:

Since I was last on here (and since the pics above), I've had the Tunit module added, and removed the rear mufflers and had twin pipes extended out the back bumper. Waiting on a few body kit parts from Germany at the moment, and considering some coil overs to get another inch or so lower. So much to do, so little time! :)

How does it image and sound with the chosen mid and tweet locations? Here in the U.S., we have a 1" tweeter in the sail panel and a 2.5" cone midrange in the dash facing up into the windshield.

I would imagine it takes a lot of time alignment on the bit one to equalize out the PLD's of those mids?

Wow. Just plain beautiful, great work!
