4.6is starter motor removal?

Morning

I need to replace the starter motor on my 4.6is.

I have been told this is an easy DIY, but where is the damn thing and whaat is the easiest way to access it?!

Thanks,
Sam

It is on the right side of the vehicle where the engine meets the transmission. You get to it from underneath. There may or may not be a writeup floating around this site with pics, don't remember off the top of my head...

thanks, I did hunt to site and do a search for a write up but had no joy.

presume it is just a case of unbolt, pull out and replace?

Thanks again

Yeah, just comes in handy to have various length extensions and a good swivel. Nimble fingers with 20-20 finger vision is also handy for the wires to it since they are held on with nuts. (13mm, 10mm and 8mm) Obviously disconnect power before messing with it to avoid involuntary arc welding with the battery cable to it.
