Need Wheel help for a 4.8is

Hi all. I just traded out my 2006 4.4 for a 2006 4.8. I have a set of style 183 18" wheels that I used as my winter tires for my 4.4, and thought I was going to use them for the 4.8, but they do not fit the brakes. Is there any 18" aftermarket wheel that you know of that will fit? I have a brand new set of snow tires so I would like to keep with the 18" rim.

Thanks.

Where do the wheels hit the brakes?

If the interior diameter is too small, look for new wheels, but if the caliper hits the back of the spokes you could possibly get away with spacers...

It hit on the inside edge of the wheel and the tire shop had universal spacers which made the wheels fit but the frontend shacks at about 60mph. Not sure if it is the balance they did or the spacers are not centered. I have been doing some searching and have not found too much.

Did find a post that talked of off set being +40. Can it be off set +42 or is the +40 the optimal.

Called Tirerack and they let me know what would and would not fit. Have wheels coming.

If the spacers weren't hub centric that definitely could have caused the shake.

You want to end up in the +20 to +30 range in the front. The back can go wider for a staggered look. A lot of it depends on the rim width too.

Got new wheels on today and all works. Specs say for us 4.8 drivers, +38 to +42 offset will fit. There is a lot of room on the wheels I put on. They are the Elbrus I06 Silver Machined wheel. Look nice on the car and the BMW center cap fits....

If you want to go with the originals, there's only one type of original BMW wheels that go with the 4.8.. had the same issue with mine
