If you need to replace an air strut I highly recommend arnott. Many of us including myself have used them! They work as intended!

What is the difference between the "new" vs. "re-manufatured" part? which did you use?

Also, should i replace the one (sagging) side or should both sides be replaced for balance?

btw arnott sells replacement airbags only now.

" New " = BMW parts @ +/- $ 950.00 ea. Arnott takes used BMW units, and rebuilds them with new rubber airbag, etc. for $ 369.00 each, or $ 315.00 each if you want to just buy the bag unit and do the tear down / reassembly yourself. Have a look at their website - they have a PDF manual showing rebuild. In my case, I replaced the left side first, then had the right side fail within a few weeks. Arnott sometimes has a waiting list so if they have in stock and you can afford it, I would do both sides same time.

id go back to the garage and ask them to show you the computer it's leaking on

When I did mine, you could only get entire assembly from Arnott. Now I see you can purchase only bag component. Leaking is due to rubber cracking in bag so if you want to rebuild your old ones, just buy the bags. If I have to do it again, for the extra $ 30.00 I will buy entire assembly then I am sure of seals and internal bits.
