Just bought a '02 X5....quick question.

I bought a 2002 X5 a few days ago. The X5 had the airbag light on. seller said it was the sensor on the bottom of the passenger seat. he provided a new sensor. no biggie. I swapped sensors in a minute and light didn't go off. I assumed it needed to be cleared. took it to the shop.

Code: Seat occupancy sensor

code erased but keeps coming up on the dash. Any other tricks to get rid of this light?

Im thinking of removing the seat and checking to see if the wiring is fried.

i used to get a similar issue on my 03 and 04 mini, had to give all the connectors a wiggle to make a good connection and then wipe the code. not sure if this will work on an X

In my e36 it used to be present when it was cold outside and the battery would be low on juice.

Could be microcracks in the seat occupancy airbag sensor. There was a recall at one point which I believe was extended to 10 years or something like that.
