That's a hell of a design flaw. I don't think it's a flaw. Could be intermediate levers, ccv valve, coil pack cracked plug, ecu programming. If it is a flaw with all the time and engineering put into these motors someone should be fired.

You're absolutely right! The mechanic that checked out my X did say it was the intermediate levers but also mentioned that it was a design flaw. I'm just stating what the Indy said. He did mention that BMW didn't call it a recal but that there was some sort of statement made by BMW regarding the intermediate levers issue.
I'm just wondering if that is something that has to be corrected or if it's something I can live with. I haven't had an issue since the weather's above freezing. |

I second the part about the 2B70-code. My local BMW Dealer told me that these types of codes don't exist on their computers. They're called other stuff and he also told me that they can go deeper in to an error code than non-BMW dealers. If this is true or not, i don't know. Because of the misfirings that occured on my car, i changed my ignition coils on cylinder 6 and 8. I also changed the sparkplugs. Haven't had a single errorcode yet or a misfire.
This operation cost me about $260 and i changed everything on my own since it's basic stuff! |
