Rough Start AFTER intermediate levers replaced
Hey guys,
Had my intermediate levers replaced a little over a year ago, and no rough start up problems since. BUT, just recently within the past 2 months i've had 2 or 3 rough start ups with the same symptoms before (shaking, SES light blinking, etc). Could this be as simple as needing new spark plugs? (i know bmw interval is like 95k miles, i'm almost at 90k). Or could my intermediate levers be F-ed again? 2004 4.4i 89,600miles |
Yes and yes. But, given the choice of randomly replacing components in a search for the cause, or reading the codes to get all the information possible in order to diagnose it, I would get the codes read. Just saying.

I would guess a generic code?
also, my SES light is not on..Just blinked and went off--I think it still stores that code |
ive replaced several sets of intermediate levers on the same cars after 1-2 years. bmw's recommendation is to replace the eccentric shafts, rockers and lifters with each repair now. - consider a parts warranty

SES light blinking means active misfire, if it were a coil it wouldn't go away after startup really. Killcrap may have hit the nail on the head (no surprise there ;)) if the repair was done replacing only the intermediate levers it may need to get the whole job done now under parts warranty. I'd contact the dealer that did the repair and schedule it in for a checkout.
