there's nothing on the new one... but on the old one the right side has a vacuum hose that is held in place by one of the yellow plastic grommets that leads back to the no return valve ... and on the left on there is nothing but a type of rubber bump stop held in place by another yellow grommet or maybe a breather for the ccv??? or could I be missing a line ???? |
Oh ok, the one goes to the no return valve and the other on the passenger side just has a plug (cap) on it, transfer it from your old part, nothing connects to it.

Dwhite, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Anyways, follow the procedures sheet. On the installation page, it says the compare the old CCV to the new one. So you are going to remove that vacuum hose on the old one and install on the new one. Now this part isn't mentioned on my DIY but, take a set of pliers and remove that rubber plug on the old CCV, transfer it onto the new one. Those yellow tabs are security clips. Just uncoil them and slip them on the new CCV and you are all done. As for which CCV you have, there werent any distinguishing part numbers that I knew of separating the cold version and regular version. Still have a problem, call me if you get in a really tight jam, you can call me. Email me for the number. Thanks

Dwhite. Right. Huh I didn't even see heckler post an answer, plus I'm doing this off my iPhone and email. Anyways, your one vacuum hose goes on, ummm the right side? And the rubber plug goes on the left. Just look at the old one and you can see right away.

On the diagram that heckler posted... P/N 12 the throttle body flange ... I can't find the hose that attaches to it on realoem??? The nipple just broke right off flange when I tried to separate the two... I guess it's back to the dealer tomorrow... I have to go anyways to pick up coolant accumulator gaskets and o-ring seals for the pipes that go into the accumulator...another thing is I bought both the A/C and alternator belts... the dealer claims that the thermostat was throwing them "HARD CODES" so I'm R&R that as well...but back to the belts... HOW AND THE HELL??? LOL

Dwhite,
That is a breather hose. Look towards the front of the motor. Did the hose that attached to the plate come out with the housing or is it still there? Or are you asking about the part number? I think you are referring to the p/n, but here is the diagram. It is a fuel tank breather hose. ref no. 9 http://realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/r/i/225.png |
Can someone tell me why bmw decided to run the battery cable underneath the intake manifold??? Any reason why I shouldn't just reroute it and zip tie the slack on it??? And does anyone know if or where I could rent the fan puller wrenches???
