How do you get the OBC display in the radio screen? Is that a v26 feature? Also, what is the mail icon in the bottom right corner?

It is a very normal setup in the menu. My prevenient X5 3.0 in 2003 has this function too. ;)

Use a normal audio cable, you can find it from the computer market(for multimedia speaker). I choose a 3.5mm stereo plug--->3.5mm stereo socket, if difficult to find that, you can use the 3.5mm plug--->3.5mm plug type as
the one with green plugs in the photo.

How do you access and display that screen. Whats the difference with the Aux cable you have displayed and the orignal? Is this just a do it your self kind of thing?

The weather in Beijing China is fine these days, and a little cold. ;)

Anybody elses Navi look like the one you see above?

UCrewX5 12-08-2005 12:03 PM

He doesn't have navigation. That is the menu system driven by the video module.

Quicksilver 12-08-2005 12:04 PM

I knew you would come thru. Thanx. I didn't know these screens were avaliable without Navi.

Just confirming this mod

Just another confirmation that I was able to add this aux input (from the instructions in this post) to a 2003 BMW X5 3.0i with Business CD radio.

I used this to enable a Bluetooth handsfree system with stereo audio streaming.

Aimster 12-18-2006 11:43 PM

How much does that screen go for without Nav? I had no idea they even existed

That's good to hear, because I'm gathering the parts to do this too. The only question I have is with the capacitor -

On the BMW schematic, the capacitor looks like it's rated at 0.22 Farads, whereas the OP used a 0.22 micro Farad capacitor. I know 0.22 F seems a bit high, so is that just another typo on the schematic? Or is it some special notation with capacitors that only electrical engineers use?

Nice work on the DIY cable.

Yes, it should be 0.22 micro Farads in the diagram.
