It does seem like coding on BMWs with NCS Expert or whatnot is starting to become reality in parts of the US. I read about it months ago on E90post and then the local BMW CCA chapter had an event that was close and convenient. Basically the person had the software capability on the laptop and the coding was done in about 5 minutes (since the X3 shares similar items with the E46 3er).
I had the amber corner lights switched off as parking lights (I use the white European ones in the high beam reflector instead, separate switch though) so they function solely as the turn signal. Also turned off the key reminder chime and enabled Convenience close (windows up/fold mirror holding down LOCK on key remote).
