Farewell to a great looking X! At least your farewell is on good terms and she is still running strong at 98k!

I haven't spoken to a dealer about trade in for my car, so I can't comment. My research is based on local sales of similar cars. Dealers want more of course. That's the business they're in. I suppose everyone thinks their car is worth more than they'll get for it. Pretty natural thing. For my part, I am thrilled it has retained so much value to the market. I've had use of it for 7 years. For ithe market to bare over 30% what I paid is pretty good. But then, as much as I like the thing, I'm not emotionally involved in its sale. I just want to move it and get back most of this year's insurance premium. Interestingly, the annual insurance for the 4.8 was the exact same amount.

Is that the truffle interior? And are the DVD screens aftermarket or when you bought it?

no. It's black. That's just the sunset light. I put those monitors in ab 2 years ago. They have covers on them so you normally don't see them. We've never used them. My daughter doesn't even know they're in the car. She was always able to find something else to do on long trips.

You don't see many X5s in that color - I really like it!

SOLD! But I won't be missing it! My next door NEIGHBOR bought it!

Yes, yes. I have a bill of sale with no warranty language in it. We understand the caution involved. I listed it online over $16K and sold it to them at a good will discount to accommodate future maintenance. The oil level sensor just started sending 'Check Engine Oil Level' errors when it is just fine and I do not think I have ever done a water pump or radiator in it.

I think it's a fair sale to friends at $15K. It also refunds to savings 1/2 the purchase price of the 4.8. Certainly feels nice to rebuild part of the unemployment buffer. But with 3 kids, the thing will get trashed over there. Oh well. As long as I don't have to clean it, I'm good!

Goodbye, my lil 3.0. We had some great times. :high5:
