folding mirrors not working?

Hey guys, can anybody tell me what can cause folding mirrors not to work? I have folding mirrors and they don't work when I press the small button. Is there a fuse or a module to look for?:dunno:

i have it since 3 years and got used into it when i knew - after trying the micro switch trick- it might be the mirror motor or the folding switch it self .. so what.. 3 years i have it not working .. lets keep it until i change my X ;)

Finally I managed to know where is that micro switch!!! Honestly its not easy to locate it directly, its hidden inside a black box on the top of the mirror inside you have to push it out, then you will find that micro switch there, usually the metal thing is either loose or not in the place so all you have to do it to return it back, push it hard to make sure its tight then return it back.
In my case I found both mirrors metal thing not in place, one return back and worked find and the other I had to se superglue to fix it without the cover and I had my folding mirror working again …

could you clarify that a bit more. The micro switch is in the mirror assembly itself?

In real world you have to use the search button.

Cool! thanks! but you cheated since you KNOW the thread exists hehe j/k But just the same thanks!!

Im getting my ducks in a row. waiting for new mirrors to arrive. so when I take apart the side mirrors I will check for that switch. I have a 2000 4.4, but there was no mention about power folding. and yet I have the small switch for it. Can anyone confirm if I really do have it?

The extended warranty cover will replace both mirrors in my car because this issue. The mirrors could move but don't stay there, returning to the normal position.

I thought my mirror was full of dust from inside because we are living in the desert but even in California it’s the same
Well, I didn’t take pictures like you I will just use this diagram.
