Bad hood switch.Unplug it will taking care of that problem.
Wow! The alarm will go off if you open the hood? Nice! So where is the sensor? What does it look like?
Do a search, there are some threads with pics to show you where it's located, passenger side near the hood hinge, just unplug it, common problem.
wow so there was someone who had same problem. while i drive my car, the front monitor keep on saying doow open, is that a hood sensor problem??
Did you unplug the hood sensor? Did it fix it?
Yes, it's the hood sensor that has gone bad. I'll try to find my thread.

i read a lots of post and i just found out exactly same problem someone had with me below is his problem
I have a 2004 X5 4.4 and the DOOR OPEN light came on. All the doors were shut, but the interior cab lights came on as well. They are dimmer and flicker, but stay on all the time. When I turn the car off and lock it, the lights stay on. I have since disconnected the battery until I can get in to service on Monday. (I reconnected the battery after 4 hours to see if the computer reset, but the "OPEN DOOR" message still appears.) I looked it up in the manual and it is a priority 2 item. The PG. 80 of the manual says: "This message appears after a minimal defined road speed has been exceeded." The manual doesn't say how to fix it. or give details on what it is. Does anyone have any idea what they are talking about? Does anyone know what this could be and or cost to fix. I just hit 51,000 miles, so this is on me. Of course this would happen on a holiday when everyone is either closed or too busy. Oh, thanks for all the great advice in the past. This is a great resource for BMW owners. This site has saved me a bunch of dough in the past. this caused my battery to die and alarm to went off everytime i lock it with the remote. anyone had this problem before and solved it?? |
