Hey C4, actually the dog was visiting, (our grand dog) and the M3 is new to us but the dog loved the car especailly with the window down, can't wait to take the top off.

Both of our X5s are 03, and I changed both expansion tanks on them last year. they had both started to seep out of the tank. The wife's car is just now starting to make a strange noise coming from the fan, so I am suspecting that the water pump will be going soon. I am planing on having the pump, and all cooling hoses replaced this summer. Any other suggestions?

Spring hit this week and I drove around with the roof removed in my C6 Corvette yesterday when the temps topped 80. The downside was I was taking my daughter to the airport really early this morning and since I was half asleep somehow I couldn't get it back on so I just drove it that way. It was in the 50's.... Of course as soon as I got home I had that top installed in 2 minutes.

I would replace all front hoses - on the V8 that was:
upper radiator
lower radiator
transfer from lower radiator to distribution block
2 smaller hoses - one goes to lower part of water pump
forget where the other one went
I replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat and both serpentine belts - even tho they looked OK, didn't want to be messing with that in 20-30K miles - way easier to do with all that junk off there.

It was about $700 in parts for the V8 - most purchased at wholesale pricing.

Made it! Dragged her kicking and screaming at times, but mostly great times

Congrats! If you guys are still in the game at 100k miles, that means you're in it for the long haul. Get ready to empty those wallets! :D (You know it's worth it!)

Oh, its well worth it. I love the way this vehicle's looks don't seem to age! She runs smooth as silk. Fingers crossed and knocking on wood.
