Dinan strut Brace installed!!

3 Attachment(s)
Finally recieved my Dinan strut brace and right away went with the install.
The install as you guys said was a piece of cake.
BUT even on the dinan instructions it said to modify the washer fluid reservoir. Its not a hards task at all, all you have to do is shave some of the plastic off that would block the brace.
My clumsy ass still managed to cut myself in the process with a dremel tool. The cut is kind of deep, I know i should have used some precaution with the tool but I did not causing me to cut myself (pic below.. for faint hearted just skip the last pic..its not that bad :)

But here are the pics

Looks great (the strut brace, not the cut - ouch!). So did you take it for a spin yet? Can you feel the difference?

It's not stock. He got the red roundel stickers/overlay and probably just put it over the blue part of the emblem. At least thats what I did on mine (black & white).

The strut brace looks hot. how much did you get it for??

fre_roc 12-08-2005 06:29 PM

nice mod!

and you got a battle wound from it!

AlpineMsix 12-08-2005 06:36 PM

So i went for a test drive, and it could be just me, but it does seem like the car is more "flat" and stable on turns. But then again it could be just psychological because i got a mod that improves my handling.
But I do have to say I am still SUPER amazed by how this SUV or "SAV" handles, im still amazed everytime i take a turn.

e53fanatic 12-08-2005 06:47 PM

damn i want one now....nice mod upgrade!

If your tetanus booster shot is more than 5 years old, get one right away besides cleaning your wound.

He is 19 years old. Chances are, he is up to date. Regardless, you did good to mention it. You can't send him a bill, though.

Agreed. It's just not only for looks...your front end is tightened up noticably during hard cornering.

Just wondering if anyone can help.. The strut from dinan i could buy the seller told me that the part # doesn't end with an A.

I noticed on dinan's site it does have an A at the end of the part #.
Should i contact dinan before i buy??

Give them a call about the strut brace, they are really great at helping out. I installed the strut brace on my 4.8is:

I will, thanks guys!

dpgx5 09-10-2009 01:57 PM

UPDATE - I was told that the A was for Air Susp. and the one without the A was for without the Air Susp.

Im confussed, 06 4.4i sport, is there air in the front? I though it was just springs.
And the rear had the air?

Anyone? THanks!
