3 warning lights and no ABS

2001 X5 4.4i

Any insight on to this? i have the 3 warning lights for the brakes (DSC, ABS, DBC) on. it happened shortly after i blew out a rear tire and swapped out to the spare. i have no codes or DTC's that my OBDII reader can pick up but on my dash it says "check control". its going to the dealership tomorrow because i cant get anything more on it.

also, on top of that, i have really nice tires on my BMW that are all at 80% tread. the tire shop said that since i have to buy one new tire it will throw out the speed sensors? any truth to this? they want me to buy 4 new tires at $1400....

Get that one tire replace than you all set. Those lights will goes out .
Lights on because you're running spare.

It isn't BS necessarily, as AWD does require that the tires are similar in diameter. What other posters are saying is that if you have 80% left, you will be fine with one tire. I agree.

so back from the dealer ship, the warning lights are completely coincidental from the tire issue. the front right wheel speed sensor is hooped (rear right had the blow out). dealer said i would be fine replacing only one tire thank god. but apparently there is a control fault in the DSC that they are not understanding, they figure the computer might be having a problem. they wont know until the speed sensor is replaced. they have quoted me $2020 for a new DSC computer. is there some place i can get a used one by chance?

WTF? First of all, buy the tire with same diameter. Difference in sizes deactivates DSC. Then see if it goes away, becasue if Speed sensor was out OBD would read it!! Then check speed sensor. and if DSC module/computer is out, check if it is Bosch. They can be repaired. I had mine done for 60$. However in US it costs 300$ I think. still better then buying brand new, or used unit.

Reread his post. He did buy a tire with the same diameter.

The codes were read, and that is how he knows the speed sensor is out.

First thing is to have the speed sensor replaced, and then see if the fault is still there.

yeah all tires the same size and still a problem, funny that its the front right though. part should be in tomorrow or thursday. not to bad, $315 for the sensor and instalation. the DSC computer is what is messing me up. i cant find anything online about it, hopeing its nothing serious. where did you buy the rebuild kit? mine is a bosche, and im in Canada
