hey wats goin on xers. i have a 05 4.8is and i wanna get rid of that stupid air ride any ideas... i been reading the other forums but want to know wats the best combo is. i aslo have style 168 in great condition wanna trade them for style 177. thanx for the help

If you want the "best" it's full coil over conversion. I think it's in the $1400 range. I just saw it in a thread. Let me look for it.

And you should post picks of your rims.... You know the dude who is gonna trade you is gonna wanna see them.

I know it's says rear, but reaplacing all four corners is talked about in this thread. Or Send a PM to the OP of that thread. He seams like he has a solid grip on what's going on with these things.

Kw coilovers run about 2400. You can simply Recode your car to trick it into thinking it has no air suspension.

Why would anyone want to spend money to get rid of air suspension?:dunno:

I have a set of crome 168's in perfect condition if you want to trade for your black 168's?

Sorry that I don't agree with you. Adjustable air susp. can bring you self-leveling function when carrying heavy things in the back and inclination compensation when running on jumpy road, it also brings you more comfortable ride whenever running on paved road or jumpy road, of course it can be adjusted to higher or lower position when necessary. Most of problems people are encountering with the adj. air susp. is air leaking and out of function of control module. As everyone knows, everything has a life span, so good maintainence and service are very important to maximize the life spend of every part on your vehicle, especially when you have a luxuary car like BMW X5 with sophisticated electronic control system. Bear in mind that always keep you eyes on your vehicle's condition like any abnormal sound or driving performance, and deal with it when any abnormal thing detected.
