Also never ignore a warning light for that amount of time. It could have caused other issues, or more stress on the bags.

When replacing those sensors, you might want to do them in pairs for safe measure, if one failed, the other is bound to very soon.

Mine had one of the sensors go at about 120k miles. The bag over-inflated and eventually blew. Had to replace the bag as well as the sensor, so you got lucky compared to me.

On the dash it says "selflevel susp inact"
I'm having a hard time finding the part.. I was told that the same part comes on the 3 series and the 5 series.. also not available at BMW dealer. I found a canceled 2001 330i and saw the part on it. I'm going to take the parts off tomorrow and see if it will work.
I checked all the fuses on the X5 and all of them are working.
Not too long ago i replaced the ABS control unit, could it be from the new ABS control unit?

you really need to scan the code to see what fault it is throwing, the selflevel susp inact msg has to be cleared by dealer or someone with GT1 anyway, its not like a check engine light that resets with the battery.

Problem solved, it was the rear right height level sensor:
Took off both rear wheels and inspected both Height Level Sensors, R/R had a crack in the housing.
Purchased sensor for £68.00 GBP from BMW Dealer
The car is still jacked up the rear wheels are off, I have disconnected the battery.

1. Removed sensor control rod linkage nut
2. Removed electrical plug
3. Removed 1 x mounting bracket nut
4. Removed both sensor and bracket
1-4 takes about 15 minutes with rear wheels removed (9 & 10mm ring spanners)

On the bench..remove the 2 'Allen key' bolts holding the bracket onto the sensor and replace sensor..

Re-did 4 - 1 above put the wheels on and off jacks before I reconnected the battery, when I reconnected the battery the car slowly levelled out. Beautiful..

Thanks All..
Best Regards Paul..

What version do you have, Phuong?
Use RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog to find part number then put it in Furiousmethod.com - BMW Parts Price Comparison to find best price.
