Lower intake boot
 

Dealer told me mine has a rip in it part is only 28bucks but dealer wants over 300 to put one in. How hard is it to do???

I changed the boot that goes from the suction hood to the intake muffler box on my 02 4.4i a few weekends ago and it was simple.

The lower intake boot is easy to replace. It's held in place by just a few hose clamps. Two of them are very easy to reach but the third that holds the boot directly to the intake is tougher to reach. Use a small socket or spanner on the nut to make it easier. It's tough to get a screwdriver on this one due to the clearance.
