Window Regulator plastic clip backing nut part #

I'm having trouble determining what the part number is for the backing nut that holds the bolt and plastic clip together onto the window glass and regulator. I noticed when changing the plastic clips last fall that I was missing one backing nut...and didn't find it at the bottom of the door interior.

I can't really tell from RealOEM.com. I remember the backing nut having the shape of a flat conical cylinder and not in the traditional hex or octagonal nut. Any help? Thanks.

I was on eBay yesterday looking for a window regulator for a customers E46 and noticed there are suppliers out there now who make complete rebuild kits for under $15 shipped.

For some reason my bushing nut doesnt hold the window to the regulator. It pops out and creates the horrific sounds when rolling up or down. Appears the window glass and regulators have been replaced already. Maybe crappy aftermartket ptarts?????

I just purchased (2) 51-33-8-254-781's clips. My driver window is "crackling" when I lower it so I assume without popping my panel yet the bolts are loose or the clips are worn

Anyone have a pic on how to install these new clips? Do they completely replace the old one? None of the DIY's or pic's I have seen so far show this clip I have in hand.

Those clips go along the bottom edge of the window where it attaches to the track. While replacing them hasn't solved my problem, those are more for the window rattling inside the door when it's down.

Crackling is mostly the cable itself failing, and that sound you're hearing is the frayed wires running through pulleys and crackling as it compacts under tension. For as easy as it is, tape the window up using lots of painters tape and remove the regulator assembly...it's one connection and a handful of bolts. If the cable is in fact ok, you can at least reinforce the plastic bracket where the two cable ends connect using the writeup post on here using copperwire.

Side note, they just came out with a new window regulator clip nut that has a wide flange/attached washer on it. It prevents the nut from coming through the window. Very odd, hope someone could shed some light on how it goes into the plastic clip. Chandler BMW in AZ is where I got it. They insisted that it was the new correct nut. Funny thing is they did not have a diagram on how it went into the clip, said to ask a tech.
