GT1 DK vs. OPS

Does anyone know if the OPS will work with DIS v44? It looks like the OPS still has the same OBDII interface, so I'm wondering if it could still be used with the old software to make life easier for programming my 2000 E53. I would think the protocol between the DIS laptop and the head has not changed, but more options were added instead. I'm looking to buy an OPS so I can work on newer BMWs, but I'd rather not buy a DK if I don't need to. I'd rather just have a VM for v44 and one for v57.

Second option, does anyone have an OPS and could try it? I can send a link for v44 disk images to install on VMWare...or you could let me borrow it and find out :D

I'm thinking it's not going to work since the E53 is not listed as a programmable model for the OPS with SSS, only diagnostic.

forget the ops, get an icom. it will program all vehicles. also, the OPS can program I-BUS vehicles no problem with a simple modification on the SSS and no modification necessary with WINKFP.

I can buy both heads for less than half the price of that ICOM. I am curious about this WinKFP. Does it work with the DK hardware? I'm researching it now.
