Need opinions about 17" rims...

Ok

so ive been batteling this virbration issue and it seems that i might have bent rims....so i dont want to move up in size since i have to replace the tires so better replace the 17" with another set of 17" then buy a 20" with summer tires.

so i like some of the options availabe from

Discount Tire, Custom Wheels, Truck & Car Rims | Discount Tire

1) Wheel Details - Discount Tire

but there are more decent options in 18" and 20" so other then oem style i love the 87s so just though i would ask opinions for replacing the 17s i dont want to buy new tires again i just got them.

you think you bent your 17" rims?

take them to a tire place to take a look.. or check them yourself...I mean, it would really take a lot of force to bend a 17" rim....

Agree with Naz in having a good tire joint check out your oe rims: have them do a slow speed spin and check for lateral runout. Sometimes enough wheel weight(s) can be added to diminish the problem. Wheels can get rim bends, but 17s are tough.

If you like your current 17s, and you do have a wheel or two that are 'bent', some good wheel joints can repair the 'bend' quite well. Another option is to hunt up a replacement wheel(s) for the unrepairable wheel(s): Style 57s are for sale here and there.

Thats the same thought i have but when they balanced all 4 the highest one was off by 2.25g so its nothing. Im just looking at my options in my other thread about vibrations from the front end. Ive replaced arms, bushings, ball joints tierods, and brakes and tires so why does it vibrate still!!!!!

When your tire joint did the balancing, they could have easily pulled a tire(s) and checked trueness of the wheel(s)...

Since they seemed to have not done that, wheels may be suspect, but it's a chase.

Just read your other threads...I have no freakin clue, other than wheels themselves, which is not a big project for a good wheel/tire joint to discern.

depending on where you are located, another member may allow u to put their extra set of wheels on to see if there is still a vibration..
