Turbo Died
Heya everybody
i think ive blown my turbo, its going next week for a full diag i was just wondering if it does come back as a turbo failure A, it is possible to do at home? B, would you do it at home and risk not having the 12month warranty? anyother things is should be looking for? |
Is this a joke?
|
What motor are you referring to and when did the e53 get a turbo?
|
Most likely Turbo Diesel! (He is in Wales.) It would depend on how adept you are with a spanner. Do you have a Bentley Manual? Have you ever done a major tear-down of a complex engine system?
Not something to be undertaken lightly but I'm sure there are some out there who could do it at home. |
I dont have a bentley manual, i would like to get one even in digitalform. I've seen hard copies on eBay for £80
I'm pretty good with spanners on boilers (I'm a gas man) Sorry I should of said for those that didn't know that it is a turbo diesel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Fill out your signatures people...solves a lot of confusion when asking questions about YOUR specific vehicle. For a while I just assumed this guy didn't have a clue and was posting in the completely wrong subforum.

Most likely your turbo cartridge let go. If so it is a easy D.I.Y. Call Melett turbos in the UK for sourcing a replacement.

If you are good with spanner on boilers you can do this job. But not with out a Bentley Manual.

Bentley manual does not show diesel engine
TIS does BMW TIS - 11 65 020 Removing and installing or replacing exhaust turbocharger (M57) BMW TIS - 11 65 020 Removing and installing/replacing exhaust turbocharger for the TU engine it always helps to give proper info on you car such as type and year .:stickpoke |
